Hollywood Park Land Development Company:
The Rams Return To Southern California
In 2009, SCG led the communications and public affairs effort to secure the entitlement of the former Hollywood Park race track into a mixed-use development. Years later, we were honored to return to Inglewood to help secure the addition of a state-of-the-art sports stadium to the site. That amendment paved the way for the return of pro football, and the Los Angeles Rams, to Southern California.
Loyola Marymount University
SCG created one of the nation’s foremost campus-based communications campaigns to raise awareness among LMU students about critical issues related to sexual assault prevention and victim support. In 2016, the campaign was awarded the JASPA Ignatian Medal for an Outstanding Campus Program, and it continues to reach nearly 7,000 students annually. Our team and LMU traveled to Washington, D.C. to present the campaign to the Higher Education Division of the Public Relations Society of America.
Pacific Maritime Association
West Coast ports are the primary American gateway for international trade, with a multibillion dollar economic impact on the U.S. economy. The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) is the industry association responsible for negotiating and administering labor contracts with the 14,000-member International Longshore and Warehouse Union. For more than a decade, PMA has engaged SCG as a strategic communications and public affairs advisor and creator of its annual report, which has become a critical source of information about this vital economic engine for news media, policymakers, Wall Street analysts, environmental groups and employees of member companies.
Turner Impact Capital
Turner Impact Capital, founded in 2014, is a fast-growing social impact investing firm committed to delivering “profits with a purpose.” Today, Turner is on course to surpass $2.5 billion in investment potential, making it a national leader in the social impact investment space. SCG was retained to dramatically expand Turner’s national profile and position it as a leading voice in its field. The resulting campaign continues to reap national TV, print and online news coverage and earned a 2016 PRism Award from the Public Relations Society of America. We encourage you to visit Turner’s new website at turnerimpact.com.
Parsons Corporation, headquartered in Pasadena, is a leading global engineering and construction firm with 14,000 employees across 29 countries and revenues of $3.2 billion in 2015. Parsons engaged SCG to support the rollout of an ambitious reorganization initiative designed to create a large-scale cultural shift throughout the company. Working collaboratively, SCG and Parsons Corporate Relations rolled out a dynamic communications campaign that included dozens of components, while remaining nimble to changes in timing that occurred day-to-day as the reorganization plan evolved. The resulting campaign, called FORWARD, was awarded a 2016 PRism Award from the Public Relations Society of America.

Our firm’s first client was Playa Vista – a trailblazing residential and commercial community on the Westside of Los Angeles that we continue representing to this day. Playa Vista not only helped launch our firm; it was the beginning of our long and deep experience working in the real estate industry on behalf of a diverse array of clients in need of assistance securing entitlements, managing crises, marketing homes or developing strong community ties.
LA Business Council
Longtime client LABC sought City of Los Angeles approval of a unique citywide rooftop solar program (a Feed-in Tariff) that would jumpstart L.A.’s investment in renewable energy by enabling owners of office, warehouse and multifamily residential buildings to install and generate solar power and sell it back to the local utility. SCG provided the public affairs and communications strategy to help its efforts succeed. The solar program – the largest of its kind in the nation – was approved, and the communications effort won top honors by the Public Relations Society of America-Los Angeles.
