A Strong Year at West Coast Ports

March 20, 2025

The 2024 Pacific Maritime Association annual report just rolled off the presses – its pages filled with photos, facts and write-ups of the happenings at West Coast ports. Together, these ports are the leading U.S. gateway for international trade, playing a critical role in the supply chain that moves goods from ports to warehouses, manufacturers, and retail shelves.

Each year, Sugerman Group works in partnership with PMA staff to write and produce the report, which has become a valuable resource for the maritime industry, economists, elected and appointed officials who oversee our nation’s trade gateways, and businesses who rely on an efficient supply chain.

This year, the report featured a welcome message from Steve Hennessey, PMA’s new president and CEO. The data in the report chronicled the return of cargo volumes to West Coast ports, buoyed by labor stability, following years of market share declines. Stories also focused on the role of automation to speed the movement of goods as well as safety and training programs that are a model in the industry.

Thank you to Bucaro Design and B&G House of Printing for great work on the project!
