In February 2022, the Los Angeles area hosted its first Super Bowl in nearly three decades, drawing fans from around the globe to the new state-of-the-art sports and entertainment destination SoFi Stadium.
It was another unforgettable chapter in an ongoing run of high-profile events that SCG client Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission (LASEC) has worked to attract, host, and support – with many more to come. These events deliver tangible, significant, and enduring benefits to communities throughout the LA region.
To help tell the story of how festivities like the Super Bowl create powerful economic opportunities regionwide, SCG produced five videos highlighting diverse local business owners and an alum of the LASEC Professional Development Program, which pathways for careers in sports and entertainment.
Video subjects included award-winning Oaxacan restaurant Guelaguetza; longtime sweet potato pie-maker 27th Street Bakery; cleaning and restoration company Allied Restoration Services; Lentini Design & Marketing, which was hired to build the Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee’s website; and a Los Angeles Clippers employee who got their foot in the door by working with LASEC.
We enjoyed getting to know and tell the stories of these incredible local businesses – and spotlight the difference that LASEC is making for Los Angeles by harnessing the power of major events.
