Celebrating L.A.’s “Unsung Heroes” at the New SoFi Stadium

June 11, 2021

Kudos to SCG client Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission (LASEC) for their event at the stunning new SoFi Stadium, which marked an important step toward Super Bowl LVI. Held at the 50-yard line, the ceremony recognized a wide-ranging mix of local community organizations for their inspiring work to improve lives throughout the region, from Alhambra to Watts..

As the head of the Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee, LASEC is working to drive lasting social, cultural, and economic benefits for all of L.A., while delivering an elite championship experience. The SoFi stadium event kicked off the official Super Bowl LVI Legacy Program – Champions Live Here – by announcing $10,000 grants for 56 “Champion” organizations. Winners walked onto the field through the players’ tunnel, with organizations’ names displayed on the 120-yard-long Oculus video board above.

The June 10 ceremony featured remarks by Host Committee Chairman Casey Wasserman; Renata Simril, President & CEO of the LA84 Foundation, and President of the Play Equity Fund; Entertainment Tonight host Kevin Frazier; and a Q&A with Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and head coach Sean McVay.

An avid sports fan, I fully enjoyed my first visit to SoFi. But it was the great organizations that truly won me over! Check out the Fox 11 story that helps tell the story!
