Communications and Public Affairs Intern (Fall 2026)
Sugerman Communications Group – a Los Angeles-based public affairs and corporate communications consulting firm – is seeking a Fall Graduate Intern to work in-person, Monday through Thursday, at our office in Century City. Hours are generally 8:30 to 5:30 p.m. Compensation is $20 per hour.
What we’re looking for: Candidates should be excellent writers, have experience in research, and be able to demonstrate a curiosity about public policy or civic affairs. Attention to detail is also an important characteristic for the position.
About the role: The intern will support account teams servicing a variety of the firm’s clients. Activities are likely to include policy research; media list development; and content development for social media platforms, websites and other communications channels. The intern can expect to participate in strategy meetings and team sessions with clients. The intern also will have the opportunity to do a capstone project, which would include making a presentation in a formal setting.

Media Monitoring Assistant (Summer 2026)
Sugerman Communications Group, an LA-based public affairs and corporate communications consulting firm, is seeking a paid Media Monitoring Assistant. This fully remote position will be compensated at the rate of $20/hr. Training is expected to start the week of May 25, 2026.
About the role: Your primary role will be to compile a daily news report on media relevant to our clients and their issue areas. Several news monitoring resources will be available to assist with media compilation. The media report takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete each morning, and it should be completed by 11 a.m. EST/8 a.m. PST each day, Monday-Friday. You can expect to work between 10-15 hours per week. The role is slated to end in June, but extension opportunities are also a possibility.
What we’re looking for:
- Familiarity with reading or monitoring a variety of local, state and national media outlets
- Ability to navigate and understand multiple different issue areas
- Ability to critically assess relative importance of different news articles for the firm and its clients
- A high level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Some level of college course work (college junior or senior preferred)
