Our client, Lulu’s Place, is planning to create a transformational nonprofit youth center with world-class sports and academic facilities in the Westchester/Playa del Rey area of Los Angeles. But the project team is already making an impact long before Lulu’s Place opens its doors.
Recently, Lulu’s Place teamed up with Playa del Rey-based Grass Roots Neighbors to help local families in need. Our client purchased sandwiches from Jersey Mike’s Subs to be delivered, along with bags of groceries, to about 60 local families.
By providing a family with $400 to $500 in monthly groceries, Grass Roots Neighbors is helping ease the burden of families who are often forced to make impossible decisions between food and other crucial needs, like rent, childcare or medicine.
Lulu’s Place selected Jersey Mike’s for a reason! The company is a proud partner of the USTA Foundation, and a significant supporter of Lulu’s Place. The sandwiches were purchased during a two-day weekend fundraiser, with 20 percent of the sales being donated to the USTA Foundation to help under resourced children across the country.
Partnering with Grass Roots Neighbors is part of the ongoing support Lulu’s Place has provided to local organizations supporting youth and their families. Prior, our client donated tennis equipment and iPads to local schools as well as offered free programs ranging from teacher professional development to career days and college application support for high school students.
