SCG presents on Crisis Communications Planning at 2022 League of American Orchestras Conference

June 4, 2022
In light of acts of violence and natural disasters around the world, performance venues have increasingly focused on updating robust emergency communications plan to ensure they are prepared to respond quickly in the event of a crisis.

Communications planning is essential to those plans. Our team has played a central role in working with leading arts and cultural institutions to develop venue-specific crisis communications programs. Based on our work, Steve and Malina were asked to present at the 2022 League of American Orchestras to a room full of communications professionals from leading institutions throughout North America.

Our one-hour seminar explored how organizations can develop a plan for effectively managing communications in the event of an accident, natural disaster, or other public safety emergency. We walked participants through the steps of creating a nimble crisis communications plan to facilitate quick decision-making during and following an emergency. We also shared new technologies designed for communications in times of a crisis.

We were so appreciative to hear from the longtime association executive that this crisis presentation was the best she had seen. And another participant told us he used some of the guidance that same day to deal with a crisis situation at the venue he represents.
