Sugerman Group is delighted to welcome a new member to our team! Carter Ashforth joins the firm from Children Now, where she spent the last two years working on statewide policies that impact children and young adults, helping to make sure their unique needs are prioritized by our state government.
An associate with Sugerman Group, Carter believes in the critical role great communications has in helping people, organizations, and communities achieve their goals. She brings an impressive array of communications and public affairs skills and experiences in the non-profit sector, entertainment business, and real estate industry. In addition to Children Now, she has held communications and public affairs positions with Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, and Family Centers, a non-profit organization in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
Nearly 10 years after earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College, where she majored in English, Carter recently earned a Master of Public Administration & Policy degree from the School of Public Affairs at American University.
After decades of local, national, and global instability, she felt motivated to explore how to become a more effective changemaker. The self-reflection led her to graduate school, seeking to learn how to persuade and collaborate with all people on a deeper level in order to bring about positive change.
She now calls Venice home, and enjoys being outside playing tennis and golf, skiing, and hiking with family and friends. She can also be frequently found enjoying live concerts, and is an avid fan of all Americana music.
