When The Accelerated Schools (TAS) opened its doors for the 2019-20 school year, the beautiful three-school campus in South Los Angeles was sparkling and ready for action. So, too, was TAS’ online presence, which had a full makeover this summer. SCG worked alongside TAS’ new CEO Grace Lee-Chang to create the schools' website that serves as an important source of information for all TAS community members. It also uses vibrant photography and video to bring to life the rich learning environment in its three schools: ACES, a dual-language immersion school (TK-6), TAS (TK-8) and Wallis Annenberg High School (9-12). Founded in 1994, TAS set new standards for public schools, and for parental and community involvement, and became a national model for change.
Aside from sharing resources for families, such as a calendar of events and enrollment information, the site also showcases the unique TAS approach where every child is treated as gifted. A new video series, “The Accelerators,” features students, alumni, parents and staff sharing their first-hand perspectives on how students can excel when supported in a school environment that sets high expectations. Check out the first video in the series.
We look forward to continuing our work with TAS as the school year progresses and are proud to support their work educating the next generation of Angelenos.
